Mathapelo Mosia is a professional Compliance Officer at one of the big five banks in South Africa (ABSA). She specializes in Ethics management and Investigations, responsible for evaluating the organization to make sure that their practices comply with legal regulations and ethical standards. Her responsibilities include reviewing of financial records, investigating business practices and evaluating contracts to make sure that the company is living up to all of its obligations and keeping abreast with the Financial Intelligence Center Act and other developments that have an impact on business as well as doing risk assessment analysis. She previously worked with Vodacom as an Analyst Inter-company and was responsible for preparing payables and receivables series reallocation Journals and all accrual journals relating to Vodafone Operating companies. She is an aspiring chartered accountant, studying towards her CTA qualification.
She holds a BCom Honors qualification from the University of Johannesburg and has successfully completed a “Rising Eagles graduate” program from Absa bank. She is passionate about teaching as she was a Communicative skills tutor at the University of Johannesburg and is devoted to uplifting the community by
taking part in CSI initiatives and passionate with Education and Youth Development.
