We have clocked over 10,400 hours of academic support to learners
This program entails the academic support of learners and aims to enhance and embed classroom learning through homework supervision, exam preparation and individual focused tutoring furthermore, under this pillar of work, we have the reading and word club, a literacy program that strengthens reading and writing in an arcade form.
The supplementary tutoring program enhances classroom content through reinforcing work done by at educators. We also encourage and support beneficiaries in taking STEM subjects. In partnership with the University of Johannesburg we are able to ensure that the right curriculum is presented to learners and we have enough volunteer tutors to support all learners.
In Grade 12, we ensure learners apply to at least three post-school opportunities, so they access tertiary institutions, learnerships or jobs the following year, so they have somewhere to go when they finish school with the aim to produce prominent members of the society who are able to lift themselves and each other out of the cycle of poverty through our after school tutoring. When these learners have their matric results, we then make sure that they are actually placed in a post-school opportunity.
