Here's looking at you kids!
We’re the people who actually make an impact in changing the world for the better. Our vision is to help disadvantaged children and young people in Freedom Park and areas of Soweto, to become responsible, independent and prominent members of society through access to high quality supplementary education and personal development programs, provided within positive and inspiring learning spaces.
"Education is the most powerful weapon we can use to change the world."
- Nelson Mandela
Who are our beneficiaries?
We mainly help diverse beneficiaries from Grade 1 to 12 enrolled within South African quintile 3 Public Schools (no-fee schools) and further support all our ex-beneficiaries. Our beneficiaries come from disadvantaged communities of Freedom Park and surrounding areas, raised by single parents and on social grant. The main primary challenge of these learners are centred across a range of aspects. Our beneficiaries in the lower grades face challenges of not being able to read and write. These beneficiaries are at risk in terms of reading performances as well as learning disabilities.
Our beneficiaries (Grade 8-12) and out of school youth face a challenge of not following the right career paths and have poor self-development. The beneficiaries also face challenges of accessing post school opportunities, and are exposed to a community that is under drugs and alcohol, early teenage pregnancy, and skyrocketing violence.
